Vivian D. Fulk

     Vivian D. Fulk, age 92, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Tendercare of Mt. Pleasant.  Vivian was born on May 21, 1922, in Shepherd, Michigan, the daughter of Claude and Catherine Caszatt Dowling.

     Vivian was a WAC during WWII and was stationed in Carlsbad, New Mexico, where she met and soon married Charles H. Fulk, who was also in the service, in Carlsbad, New Mexico on September 27, 1944.  Mr. Fulk preceded her in death on January 11, 2009.            Vivian was a resident of Mt. Pleasant since the late 1940’s.  She was a bookkeeper and co-owner of Mt. Pleasant Heating.   Vivian received a Masters of Fine Arts degree.  She was an artist, displaying and selling her art works at various shows in the area.  She enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their activities.

     Vivian is survived by her two children, Aprial and Ken Curry of Mt. Pleasant, and Dwight and Lesle Fulk of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren, Renae and Scott Pung, Rachelle and Mike Conroy, Risa (Doug) Scully-Hunt, Kenneth and Lynn Curry, and Chad and Sharon Curry; twelve great grandchildren; a brother in law, Heber Fulk; three sisters in law, Virginia and Bill Duff, Betty and Al Moreno, and Dada Dowling; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; four brothers, Dwight, Claude, Wayne and Elton Dowling; and three sisters, Mildred Clark, May Fulk and Virginia Riggle.

     Memorial services for Vivian will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 am from the Rowley Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.  The family will receive friends from 10 am until the time of services.  Interment will be in Memorial Gardens next to her husband.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the donor’s choice.  Envelopes are available at Rowley Funeral Home.
